At Prospect 13, we’re all about improving future outlooks – for our clients, our team, and the next generation of marketing experts. That’s why we’re super excited to welcome Lexie, an S5 student from Mackie Academy, who has joined us for a weekly placement until December.
Eager to get hands-on experience with a marketing agency in Aberdeen, Lexie reached out to us directly. She’s balancing Higher studies, a part-time job, and now a seat at the P13 table.
She’ll be diving into everything from branding and PR to digital marketing and social media management, getting a proper taste of the creative, fast-paced world we live in.
So, to get to know Lexie more we asked her a few fun questions:
Q&A with Lexie
What’s your favourite thing you’ve learned or seen in marketing so far?
My favourite thing I’ve seen in marketing so far was all the designed displays at Offshore Europe and the digitally designed boards. It has opened my eyes to the meaning behind colour and text, and how it connects to business goals.
What’s something you’re most excited to learn or experience during your time with us?
I’m most excited to learn about all the planning and idea-generating that happens before the final creation is made. I’m also looking forward to experiencing how the different aspects of marketing come together.
Outside of school and work, what do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, and going shopping. I also like going on walks at night in the colder months and wrapping up in scarves and jackets.
Do you have an idea of what you’d like to do in the future yet?
After finishing school, I’d love to take a gap year to work, save money, and hopefully travel for a few months before starting university. I’m drawn to studying digital media and information, ideally in a new city like Glasgow or Edinburgh, as I’m keen to experience somewhere different. Looking ahead, I’m especially interested in careers in marketing, sports journalism, or fashion journalism.
What’s the last TV show, film, or book you really enjoyed? And why?
The last movie I watched and really enjoyed was the F1 film. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did because I’d heard it was unrealistic, but I was pleasantly surprised by the story and the acting.
If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be?
I would want to be able to speak multiple languages because it fascinates me how people can be fluent in more than just English. I’d love to be able to travel and talk with locals.
