This role is traditional PR and way beyond. We are talking digital integration, online newsrooms, amplification campaigns, SEO-driven content, thought leadership, community management. The fully integrated strategic comms package.

You will create, manage, implement, monitor and evaluate communication strategies for Prospect 13 and a range of cross sector clients, supporting them to tell their stories and effectively describe and promote their organisation, products and services.

You will use all forms of media and communications to build, maintain and manage the reputation of clients for a busy marketing agency.

As part of a growing, dynamic team and reporting to the CEO, the Strategic Communications position is varied across a diverse portfolio of clients, including Energy, Agriculture, Technology, Professional Services, Education, Commercial Property, Construction and Third Sector.

The ability to develop and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, media, suppliers and key stakeholders is required, as well as a proactive, forward-thinking approach to the efficient operations of day to day activities is key. You’ll be super organised, follow processes and procedures and have an eagle eye for detail.

  • Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Marketing Manager and a range of clients, you will own client communication strategies aligned to business and marketing objectives. This includes creation, management, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
  • Manage communication activities across the communications function, delegating priorities and managing deadlines
  • Create stand-alone PR strategies as well as communication plans as part of wider marketing strategies in alignment with the Marketing Manager
  • Pitching article ideas and getting creative with communication angles and value propositions to raise client profiles
  • Build and maintain close relationships with targeted media and industry bodies to identify and secure PR and communication opportunities
  • Managing Forward Features, Awards Calendars and annual topic plans for a variety of sectors
  • Sourcing and securing speaking and sponsorship opportunities
  • Identify CSR and community initiatives for clients
  • Researching and writing a range of communications including but not limited to:
    • o press releases and news statements
    • feature articles
    • editorials
    • advertorials
    • award entries
    • case studies
    • proposals
    • marketing materials
    • campaign content
    • website articles and blogs
    • social interaction
    • abstracts
  • Devising and co-ordinating photo opportunities to support communication activities
  • Distributing communications to targeted media, suppliers etc.
  • Monitoring coverage, analysing results and client ROI, feeding into performance reporting
  • Managing the PR aspect of a potential crisis to minimise reputation damage

  • Proven writing expertise and creative flair
  • Good understanding of marketing principles and strategy
  • Demonstrable ability to multi-task and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Well-organised with a customer-oriented approach
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, marketing computer software and online applications
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • HND in Marketing or Business-related field
  • Driving licence required

  • The Strategic Communications role will be based in Aberdeen
  • Full time but open to pro-rata and job share opportunities
