Meet Enzi Rengel, Our New Marketing & Comms Intern

Meet Enzi - Marketing and Communications Intern

Currently in her third year studying BA Fashion Management, Enzi will be with us for a 12-week placement, getting stuck into the world of marketing and communications.

With a strong eye for fashion and aesthetics, she’s keen to explore how creativity and strategy come together in an ever-evolving industry. We can’t wait to see what she brings to the table.

Get to know Enzi a little better and find out why this fashionista chose a placement with a local Aberdeen marketing agency.

What first sparked your interest in marketing?

I’ve had an interest in business management since school, particularly how organisations achieve their goals through strong storytelling and branding. My first real spark for marketing, though, came through fashion. Studying Fashion Management pushed me to look deeper at what marketing actually is, the tactics behind it, and the many different ways it shows up today.

It is so fascinating walking through the city centre or driving past billboards and advertisements that tell stories and engage us in different ways. I love breaking it down, questioning the choices behind it, and understanding why something looks or feels the way it does. That curiosity is what really fuels my interest in marketing.

What brand do you think nails its marketing and why?

Yes, I’m biased. Their gym wear is cool, good quality, and I definitely wear it even when I’m nowhere near a gym. But beyond the product, their marketing just works. It feels effortless but it’s clearly intentional, with a huge focus on inclusivity rather than simply pushing products.

They really understand their audience, their platforms and their purpose within the fitness space.  Like, come on, have you seen their genius “Shoplifting Essentials” campaign? I love guerrilla marketing because it creates a spectacle, plus social behaviours create that buzz around the brand and channels.

What are you most excited about during your time at Prospect 13?

This placement felt like the right next step for me. Prospect 13 offers so many opportunities to grow both personally and professionally, especially as someone just starting out in the industry.

After learning about who Prospect 13 was a few years ago, I’ve followed their work closely ever since. The diversity of client projects they’re involved in really stood out to me, and it’s what’s driven my desire to gain hands-on experience in a creative and collaborative environment.

The most valuable part for me will be learning from people with experience in their fields, soaking up as much knowledge as possible, and putting it into practice. And of course, I’m also looking forward to meeting everyone’s dogs when they come into the office!

Worst fashion trend you’ve ever taken part in?

I am going to keep this short and sweet but ultra skinny spray on jeans and galaxy print leggings… I still haven’t mentally recovered.

What’s one goal you’re working towards this year?

To be the best version of myself and feel happy in myself. I think for a lot of years I have made decisions that are heavily influenced by what others say is best for me but the beauty of growing up is that you really do grow wiser, so all the decisions I take on moving forward are only for the best of my future self.

For example, I am pushing myself out of my comfort zone to achieve new goals and gain new experiences, one being this placement and another being the fact I am running a Half Marathon later this year!

Fun fact about you?

I am originally from Venezuela, South America! I came to the UK when I was 10 years old not knowing a single word of English and went straight into secondary school! I learned English within four to five months and even received a recognition award for it.
