Introducing Sarah

Meet Sarah Kelly our Digital Marketing Assistant with us on placement from Robert Gordon University…

Tell us a bit about you?

I am from originally from Edinburgh but have been living in Aberdeen since 2017 whilst studying at Robert Gordon University. Initially, I was studying Biomedical Science at university but quickly realised I was not interested in the subject, or the industry so made the decision to change courses to something better suited to me. At school, I really enjoyed business studies and art, therefore RGU’S new Digital Marketing BA offered the opportunity to do both. Throughout my time at university, I have been able to develop business skills and knowledge and foster creative talents producing content for projects. As part of the course, I have also been able to study abroad just recently returning from a semester at Mount Royal University in Calgary in December 2021; this opportunity was amazing and gave incredible insight into not only marketing but how work ‘gets done’ in a different part of the world.

What brought you to Prospect 13?

Having read lots of placement job specs and researched the companies, I really liked the vibes I got from P13. The company values struck a chord with me describing the type of positive, slightly less corporate team and work environment I would like to be part of; so far, my experience has been exactly that! Speaking to Cerri and Grace about what kind of projects they would like me to get involved with also drew me to P13 as it was clear they wanted someone to actually get engaged allowing the opportunity to learn lots over the placement period.

What are you most looking forward to learning?

I am really looking forward to understanding how projects go from an initial idea right through to fruition. Getting to see how the team come up with ideas, feed them back to clients, make it happen, then launch, is something I am really excited to see and learn.

Tell us a little about the projects you are going to get involved with?

The main projects I am going to be getting involved in are web design focussed. The team are in the process of building brand new websites for clients, and I am going to be looking a lot at the SEO side of websites using different software and techniques. I am super interested in SEO as we have covered it at a basic level in university, so it will be really cool to see it implemented and actually working in practice.

What is something the team may not know about you?

The team definitely do not know that I used to play volleyball for about 13 years and represented Scotland at different age levels!

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I am a little bit Real Housewives obsessed but I also love going out with friends and reading books for enjoyment rather than university essays!

What are your goals with your placement at Prospect 13?

Over placement, I really just want to absorb as much knowledge as possible and learn from the team already working so well in the industry.
