That’s why we think it’s about time you got to know the people who are at the heart of it all with a ‘meet the team series’

You’ve met Lisa, now it’s time to meet Jennifer Taylor – our Communications PRO…

Tell us a bit about you?

After studying journalism at Aberdeen College, I began my career as a local newspaper reporter, moving up the ranks to become sub editor of a weekly publication before moving on to become a national newspaper journalist. I then made the switch over to communications and public relations where I have found the perfect blend of two of my passions – writing and communicating.

I lived overseas from Jan 2007 – December 2019 but am now delighted to be back home in Aberdeenshire to be closer to my family. I’m really enjoying exploring Scotland again after 13 years away from home.

What brought you to Prospect 13?

Fate – I like to think so anyway. I had just moved back to Scotland after a long career break to have my children and had supported my family through multiple oversea relocations. I worked in various freelance roles during my time away so I was looking for a role that could offer me flexibility with a young family, but that had enough of a challenge to kick start my professional career in communications again – so the job was the perfect fit at the right time.

How would you describe your role?

As Communications Public Relations Officer, I work closely alongside the Prospect 13 team to assist our clients with their specific PR requirements, with a focus on developing strategic public relations agendas. I pitch article ideas to various publications and always try to get creative with communications to raise client profiles

What’s your favourite memory with Prospect 13?

Returning to the office after almost six months remote working. It was great to be back with the team face to face, making cuppas and re-connecting with everyone. You can’t beat the office banter!

Tell us a personal success story you have had with Prospect 13?

I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to re-learn an abundance of skills. It was daunting to enter back into the workplace at first, but I have loved being a part of a team again, as well as getting to know our clients from a diverse range of sectors. Every day’s a school day with P13.

What is something the team may not know about you?

I’m a huge country music fan. Dolly Parton is my idol. I’ve seen her live twice!

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

I’m passionate about health and fitness so you will often find me at The Shed Health Club near Tarves or at the beach with my dog Bear.

What are your future goals with Prospect 13?

To continue pursuing my passion for effective communication.
