We are thrilled to welcome Enni Groner, our new 3rd-year student from Robert Gordon University, joining us for a 12-week university placement.

We asked Enni a few questions to get to know her more and to share insights into her goals and aspirations.

Tell us a bit about you?

Hello, I’m Enni/Eni. Originally from Helsinki, Finland, I am a photographer and currently pursuing a degree in Digital Marketing at RGU. I’m also a wife and mom of two (plus a furry friend).

Aberdeen has been my home for the past 10 years, initially drawn here by my partner’s job in the Oil and Gas industry. What I love most about this place is the breath taking landscapes – we get the best of both worlds with mountains and the ocean. The friendly people and the wonderful friends I’ve made along the way make Aberdeen truly special to me. I’m a super chatty and extroverted person, but I also cherish moments alone with a good book or pottering around the house. Reading has become a recent hobby, and in the last 9 months, I’ve devoured more books than I have in years!

What accomplishment are you really proud of?

I’m proud of the life I’ve built in the last 10 years and having gotten this far in college and university while juggling family life.

When I first moved to Aberdeen, I didn’t know much about it and social media wasn’t huge back then. Yet I’ve managed to find lifelong friends that are like family and nearly finish a whole degree.

What are you most excited to learn during your time at Prospect 13?

I’m thrilled to dive into the Digital Marketing world and learn about the day-to-day operations of a multi-faceted marketing agency. During my time at Prospect 13, my goal is to absorb as much knowledge as possible and build the confidence needed for a successful start in my career as a Digital Marketer.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I am fluent in four languages, all of which I use on a daily basis. I grew up bilingual, speaking Finnish and German at home. In Finland, most TV shows are in the original language, often English, with Finnish subtitles. This exposure turned me into a fast reader, and I picked up English even before it became a school subject.

Lastly, I lived in Brazil for about two years before coming to Aberdeen, where I picked up Brazilian Portuguese. Now, it has become one of our home languages as well.

What’s one thing that you want to achieve in 2024?

I am looking forward to prioritising my general well-being in 2024, by incorporating a bit more sleep, and establishing a consistent exercise routine. I aim to take part in activities that fill my energy, such as meeting friends for a walk or coffee and engaging in meaningful conversations.

I also have a desire to explore more through travel, whether it’s within Scotland, the UK, or abroad.
